MtekVision and Scalado Partner to Provide Exceptional Image Capturing Features, Zero Shutterlag and Faster Image Viewing on Cameraphones
Seoul, Ottawa and Lund – 10 February, 2009 – MtekVision Co Ltd, a leading fabless semiconductor company, and Scalado AB, the leader in mobile imaging software solutions for fast and memory efficient image processing, have announced that a licensing agreement has been signed to create Scalado SpeedTagged JPEGs within MtekVision’s hardware and software platforms. Scalado and MtekVision will also be cooperating on the integration and promotion of Scalado SpeedTags Camera Solution, the SpeedView modules, CAPS SDK and other imaging
modules.
This strategic partnership enables MtekVision and Scalado to offer this technology on MtekVision Mobile Multimedia Processors such as Maple, as well as giving its Camera Signal Processors (CSP) the ability to create and support Scalado’s patented SpeedTags. This will drastically reduce camera image capture times and remove the problem of shutter lag, whilst also enhancing photo album image viewing and image zooming on mobile devices using MtekVision’s processors and running Scalado’s technologies.

The product line that will be the first to benefit from the partnership will be MtekVision’s, Maple media processor product line which is currently used in some of the leading 5Mpixel and 8Mpixel camera phones. MtekVision and Scalado leverage both low power and cost-effective multimedia performance of Maple and Scalado’s SPMO and Zero Shutter Lag solution. This brings faster image browsing and viewing, as well as reliable continuous zooming to mobile customers.
